Blackened Greek Salad
To bring this fusion idea together:
Add a Protein: Blacken a protein like shrimp, chicken, or even tofu with the seasoning mix.
Sear it in a hot skillet with some oil until it develops that signature dark, flavorful crust.
Salad Base: Keep the classic Greek salad ingredients—crisp cucumbers, juicy tomatoes, tangy feta, and briny olives.
Dressing Twist: Incorporate a hint of the blackening seasoning into the dressing. Mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, and a pinch of the blackening spice blend for a smoky, spicy kick.
Assembly: Toss the salad ingredients, drizzle with the spiced dressing, and top with the blackened protein.
Devilled Eggs BLT Slider
To bring this fusion idea together:
Prepare the Ancho Chili Devilled Eggs:
Slice the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise and gently scoop the yolks into a medium bowl.
Mash the yolks with a fork, then mix in the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and Chef's Essence Ancho Chili Seasoning. Stir until smooth and creamy.
Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves. Set aside.
Cook the Blackened Bacon:
Preheat a large skillet (cast iron works best) over medium heat.
Sprinkle both sides of each bacon slice with Chef's Essence Blackening Seasoning.
Cook the bacon in the skillet for 4-6 minutes per side, or until crispy and slightly charred, depending on your preferred doneness. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Cut each slice in half to fit the sliders.
Assemble the Sliders:
On the bottom half of the Ancho Chili devilled egg, place a small lettuce leaf, and slice of tomato.
Add a half sliced blackened bacon or two !
Top with the other half of Ancho Chili devilled egg.
Flavor Notes
The Ancho Chili Seasoning brings a mild, earthy heat and subtle sweetness to the devilled eggs, balancing the richness of the yolk and mayo.
The Blackening Seasoning gives the bacon a bold, spicy, and slightly smoky crust that complements the fresh lettuce and tomato.
